Level 2 Certificate in Health and Social Care
Course Overview
This course will equip you with knowledge and understanding across a range of topics, and prepares you for further study at Level 3, or to work in a range of roles within the health and social care sector.
You will attend college one day a week and take part in classroom lessons. These lessons will be interactive and engaging, promoting group discussions and both group and independent tasks.
It is recommended that you undertake work placement activities during the course, which may form part of your existing job role.
What You Will Study
You will study the following units:
- Equality, Diversity and Rights in Health & Social Care
- Human Growth & Development
- Safeguarding & Protection in Health & Social Care
You will attend College every Wednesday during term time.
You will be assessed in several ways during your qualification to support your skill development for working in the Health & Social Care sector. This may include presentations, written work and case studies.
A successful interview and GCSE Grade 3 or equivalent in English.
You should have an interest in the subject, and experience of working in the Health & Social Care sector will also be considered.

Learners who successfully complete this course may progress onto the Level 3 Certificate in Health & Social Care at Wakefield College.
