Childcare, Early Years & Childhood Studies

Childcare is forecast to be one of the top five occupations in the UK.

Our Childcare courses have been developed by experienced professionals and will help you to enjoy a rewarding career working with children. Many families rely on professional childcare to help balance work and family responsibilities, which makes childcare a growing sector with many opportunities.

Our courses include a substantial amount of work placement experience in various types of childcare provision, helping you to choose a progression route within the area which interests you most. The department has close connections with local schools and local and national health care providers, creating fantastic placement opportunities for students, including Pinderfields Hospital.

Fun Ways to Learn

Our students are always experiencing new ways to learn so that they can apply this to their own practice. Each year we take our students to local Forest Schools where they learn the importance of learning outdoors, team building and problem solving.

Classrooms

At the College we have a classroom that has been designed to mimic a nursery or primary school classroom so that our Childcare learners can become familiar with an early years teaching environment whilst they learn.
