Travelling to College

We know that travel to and from your place of learning is an important part of your college experience. All of our Colleges are well served by public transport, and there are loads of options for students, from discounted single fares to weekly passes, so that you can get the best deal on public transport.

Castleford College is located across from the Leeds Road Asda and nearby to shopping centre, Junction 32, XScape and the M62. There are several bus stops outside the College that provide accessible routes around the Wakefield district.

The Journey Planner on Metro’s website is one of the easiest ways to work out your journey to the College or anywhere in Yorkshire by bus or train.

Glasshoughton Station is a 10-minute walk from Castleford College and serves train routes to Castleford and Knottingley.

The College also has on-site parking for staff, students and visitors.

Selby College is situated on Abbot's Road in Selby, about a 10 minute walk from Three Lakes Retail Park and 20 minute walk from Selby Train Station.

There are several Arriva bus services that provide accessible travel routes to the College, serving many areas throughout the district. More information on travel routes can be found on the Arriva website.

Selby College also operates its own bus services for students travelling from across the district. An annual bus pass will need to be purchased through the college for these services.

Additionally, there is a FREE shuttle bus service between the College and Selby Bus/Train Station at the beginning and end of college days.

There is ample on-site parking for staff and visitors as well as students with parking permits which are issued by the College.

Selby College provides its own transport to and from the College for students travelling from across the district. This service is run in addition to public transport provided by Arriva. For more imformation on this service please visit the Selby College transport page.

Wakefield College is in Wakefield city centre and is well-connected to surrounding areas by a number of bus and train routes.

Wakefield Bus Station is less than a 10-minute walk from Wakefield College and provides lots of bus route options across the city.

Metro also run a ‘freecitybus’, a free bus service that links all the key locations in the city centre such as Wakefield Kirkgate and Trinity Walk. The nearest stop to the College is Wakefield One.

Unfortunately, parking is very limited around the Wakefield College campus, so we advise you to plan your parking arrangements before you travel.
